Terms and Conditions

By submitting an application to the Enterprise Learning Awards (TELA), applicants agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

1. Eligibility

  • The awards are open to organizations and learning service providers operating in Africa.
  • Applicants must enter the category or categories most relevant to their initiative, program, service, or solution.
  • Submissions must relate to initiatives, programs, services, or technologies that were active or implemented within the eligibility period specified for the awards year.
  • Entries must be submitted by an authorized representative of the organization or provider.

2. Accuracy of Information

  • All information provided in the application must be accurate, complete, and truthful.
  • Applicants may be required to provide additional documentation or clarification to support claims made in their submissions.
  • The Enterprise Learning Awards reserves the right to verify information provided by applicants.
  • Any submission found to contain false, misleading, or unverifiable information may be disqualified at any stage of the awards process.

3. Submission Requirements

  • All entries must be submitted through the official application process and by the stated deadline.
  • Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all required information and supporting documents are submitted before the deadline.
  • Incomplete submissions may not be considered for evaluation.
  • Late submissions will not be accepted unless otherwise determined by the awards organizers.

4. Multiple Entries

  • Applicants may submit entries for multiple award categories where appropriate.
  • The same initiative, program, service, or solution may be entered into more than one category if it meets the eligibility requirements of each category.
  • Separate responses may be required for each category entered.

5. Use of Submitted Materials

  • By submitting an entry, applicants grant the Enterprise Learning Awards permission to use non-confidential information from their submission for promotional, educational, reporting, and recognition purposes.
  • This may include publication on the awards website, social media platforms, event materials, press releases, and post-awards reports.
  • Proprietary, confidential, or commercially sensitive information should be clearly identified by the applicant.
  • The Enterprise Learning Awards will take reasonable measures to protect confidential information and will not intentionally disclose such information without permission.

6. Judging Process

  • All submissions will be assessed using a structured evaluation framework specific to each award category.
  • Entries will be reviewed by an independent panel of judges selected based on their expertise and experience.
  • Judges will evaluate submissions against published criteria and supporting evidence.
  • The judges’ decisions are final and binding.
  • The Enterprise Learning Awards is not obligated to provide individual feedback to applicants unless otherwise stated.

7. Use of Technology and Artificial Intelligence

  • To support efficiency, consistency, and quality assurance, the Enterprise Learning Awards may utilize technology-assisted review tools, including artificial intelligence (AI), as part of the evaluation process.
  • AI-assisted tools may be used to support activities such as reviewing submissions against published criteria, identifying themes and patterns, validating completeness, and assisting comparative analysis.
  • AI-generated outputs are advisory in nature and are used only to support the evaluation process.
  • All assessments, shortlist decisions, and award outcomes remain under the authority of human judges.
  • Final decisions will be made by the judging panel and not by artificial intelligence systems.
  • The Enterprise Learning Awards is committed to ensuring that any use of AI enhances fairness, consistency, and transparency while maintaining appropriate human oversight.

8. Conflict of Interest

  • Judges are required to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest.
  • Judges will not evaluate submissions where a conflict of interest exists.
  • Applicants must disclose any relationships or circumstances that may reasonably be perceived as creating a conflict of interest.

9. Disqualification

The Enterprise Learning Awards reserves the right to disqualify any entry that:

  • Does not meet the eligibility requirements.
  • Contains false, misleading, or unverifiable information.
  • Violates these Terms and Conditions.
  • Attempts to improperly influence the judging process.
  • Brings the awards, judges, organizers, or partners into disrepute.

10. Withdrawal of Entries

  • Applicants may withdraw their entry by providing written notice before the commencement of the judging process.
  • Once judging has commenced, entries may not be withdrawn except under exceptional circumstances determined by the awards organizers.

11. Awards and Recognition

  • Being shortlisted or selected as a winner does not create any contractual relationship between the applicant and the Enterprise Learning Awards.
  • Winners and finalists may be recognized through award ceremonies, media announcements, marketing materials, and official publications.
  • Award recipients may reference their recognition in marketing and communication materials, provided such references are accurate and not misleading.

12. Limitation of Liability

  • The Enterprise Learning Awards, its organizers, partners, sponsors, judges, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from participation in the awards process.
  • Participation in the awards is entirely voluntary and at the applicant’s own discretion.

13. Changes to Categories, Timelines, and Processes

  • The Enterprise Learning Awards reserves the right to amend award categories, eligibility requirements, judging criteria, timelines, or procedures where necessary.
  • Any significant changes will be communicated through official awards channels.

14. Privacy and Data Protection

  • Personal and organizational information collected through the application process will be used solely for the administration, evaluation, and promotion of the awards.
  • Information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy requirements.
  • Applicant information will not be sold or shared with third parties except where necessary for the administration of the awards or as required by law.

15. Acceptance of Terms

  • Submission of an entry constitutes full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  • Applicants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to abide by all rules, requirements, and procedures governing the Enterprise Learning Awards.
